Next steps after being accepted at Riverland
1. Apply for Financial Aid (if you have not done so already)
Complete the free online application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. Riverland's school code is 002335. Note: You do not have to wait until you are accepted to the college to complete your FAFSA.
2. Orientation/Assessment/Registration
(NSR) is required for all new students. It includes orientation, Accuplacer testing (if applicable), advising, class registration and information on accessing your Riverland accounts. The location of your registration session is determined by your program/major.
You must preregister to attend. Registration for NSR is available on line.
All new students are required to take before registration. The Accuplacer is a computerized test used to determine your readiness for college level course work. It is important that you prepare for the Accuplacer. Free study guides can be found at www.riverland.edu/Accuplacer.
If you prefer to take the Accuplacer on a separate day from your NSR session, you may. However, you MUST complete Accuplacer testing PRIOR to attending your NSR session.
*Students may be exempt from taking the Accuplacer test if they have an ACT sub-score of at least 16 in reading and a sub-score of 22 in math. Please send a copy of your ACT scores to the Admissions Office.
